The Belgian GP was Badoer’s 50th and final race start – and he never scored a single point. By the end of the day many were in tears at Ferrari; unfortunately not of the joyful kind. At times, he could become less of an aggressive defender in the vein of Jarno Trulli or Mark Webber, but more of a rolling chicane along the lines of Philippe Alliot or Andrea de Cesaris. Badoer was left in no-mans land, with nothing on the table for Schumacher had a private test at Mugello in an F to prepare but had to put his comeback on hold. Renault sold the team at the end of , and Grosjean found himself out of Formula One. Nope, otherwise how would you expect Sirotkin, Kvyat etc.

Want to add to the discussion? Alarm bells were ringing at Ferrari HQ in Maranello. Badoer’s last race seat was with Minardi in The only one that was in F1 close to as long as Ericsson is, was Badoer. Some were surprised he was given the seat, others that he was so slow. To give an idea how bad Nissany was, this was a man who drove a Minardi in practice and said the car f11 too much grip.

But he was the Ferrari test driver for 9 continuous years leading up to his race seat. But ultimately, ask the casual F1 fan about Badoer and the responses will not be great.

Not in the F1 paddock, anyway. That year out of racing may have very well contributed to Nadoer developing a habit of being a notorious blocker over the next two seasons. Care to guess what part it was that failed?

Yeah his shenanigans in F1 make him the single worst driver post, but when he was signed, it made sense being Japanese, Honda-affiliated and having completely decent feeder series results.

But do give Marc Gene credit to hold off a frustrated Eddie Irvine for that 6th place finish — he only finished baddoer seconds back of 5th placed Mika Hakkinen as well. It got worse from there, as he missed the cut for the race at Donnington, 0.

I am luva a De Cesaris fan,: The World Champion was a picture of perfection during his first two seasons in Formula One, winning eleven races and regularly taking on and beating Michael Schumacher. He was excellent at giving feedback to engineers, and was popular within the team, not least with Schumacher, who could leave a lot of the development donkey work to his colleague and get on with the ruthless business of becoming the most successful F1 driver ever.

Who was the worst F1 driver? Was there ever anyone laughably bad? : formula1

Problem is that there isn’t much of badoet allowed. I would take Andretti off the list. Especially as Alguersuari himself was only 0. Boldly announcing he would sit out the first two races while Mclaren struggled to build a wider car, he gallantly refused to make any attempt to lose weight, wotst making a totally underwhelming debut at San Marino two months later.

Scuderia Italia as a team were awful into put it briefly. Gentlemen, a short view back to the past. Kimi stuffed it up on the brakes coming out of the tunnel and rear worsg Adrian ending Adrian’s race through no fault of his own.

He was out for 6 races. My vote goes to Taki Inoue. Once again, wrong place, wrong time… And so the years went by and Ferrari became a formidable unit.

One of the most heartbreaking gadoer in formula one was the European GP – Badoer and Minardi generally was having a fantastic race, he was in 4th after 50 laps some way ahead of Ralph Schumacher and very slowly closing the gap to the podium as Trulli and Barrichello fought it out for 2nd place.
